When living in colonies, microbes often display beautiful colors and patterns visible to the naked eye. I take advantage of their astonishing metabolic diversity to create living works in the form of ready to hang art. My approach is based on the principles of the Wynogradsky column, which date back to the 1880s.

How do you create your works ? I fill polycarbonate honeycomb panels with water and sediment taken from nature, and then leave the microbes to grow.
What do your works need to live ? They need light and, sometimes, extra water and nutrients. So they thrive in a bright room if you give them a little water and fertilizer every month or two.
Do your works evolve over time ? Yes, and that is what makes them so special. They take on surprising forms that you cannot imagine in advance.
How long do your works live ? They can live from a few months to several years.
